L.A. County sheriff’s deputies have been on the prowl for their famous serial rapist, Danny Masterson. He’s accused of raping five women since 2002. In July, he was charged with the most recent and most brutal attack.

Three months after his arrest, Sherri Papini, a 23-year-old aspiring singer and actress, was raped on a beach in Malibu, where Masterson had rented a bungalow for a weekend getaway.

Papini testified about the night she was attacked, which occurred on a scorching Sunday afternoon. She was dressed in leggings, a tank top and capri pants. She was on the beach with her boyfriend, who was working.

Papini told her boyfriend that her mind was racing, she had a strong feeling that something was not right with her, she thought she was being targeted and had to get away quickly. She said she ran off the beach and into the ocean.

“I know something did not feel right because I was getting scared. I really didn’t know if this was really happening to me,” Papini told the court.

Papini said she had a series of encounters with Masterson over the next three days, in which he held her in his garage for hours – sometimes nude as he masturbated – before raping her.

She said she became so frightened, she ran into the ocean again. Her boyfriend eventually found her, she said.

“I don’t even know how to respond to all this. I’m so overwhelmed with anger and fear and disgust,” Papini said through tears.

Papini is one of five women who have testified in recent months about different victims, including herself, that they were gang-raped by Masterson. At least eight women, including Papini, allege that Masterson raped them as a part of a group.

She said that Masterson raped her in the garage of his bungalow, the same spot where he’d raped Pap
