DC Universe Animated Original Movies — Jason Brown and Stephen L. Arnold

James Gunn and Peter Safran named to lead DC Studios for Warner Bros.

The team behind “Watchmen,” “Wolverine,” “Green Lantern” and the animated film “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” has been named director and executive producer of the new DC Comics “DC Universe Animated Original Movies.”

The announcement comes on the heels of a string of DC films, including “Shazam!, “Superman: Apocalypse” and “Justice League,” which have all proved extremely successful, and marked the first time DC brought a character to life in live-action in more than 50 years.

The “DC Universe Animated Original Movies” will be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jason Brown, who will also be producing the films alongside Warner Bros. President of Production Greg Silverman, DC Entertainment chairman & CEO Geoff Johns, and DC Entertainment president Jim Zuckerman. Stephen L. Arnold (“Arrow,” “Batman: Arkham City”) will serve as executive producer, while Michael Green (“Justice League”) will be designing the films.

The projects are planned for release in the spring of 2019.
